Crane Service Company offers full service solutions for all of your crane and rigging needs. We have the manpower, equipment, and expertise to help facilitate in all phases of rigging.

We can receive your equipment in one of our secure inside or outside storage facilities, deliver to the site, and set your equipment as needed. The existing equipment can be removed and disposed of per your request. Our experienced staff will utilize machines ranging from dollies to 770 ton cranes to perform the necessary tasks to complete your rigging needs in a safe and professional manner.

An estimator from our rigging division will provide a free estimate, customized for all of your rigging requirements.
Crane Service History
1926 Founder Robert Hutchison started Crane Service Company in Georgetown, Washington, DC at the C & O Canal.
1945 Sherwood Hutchison joins Crane Service after returning home from serving our Country in WWII with the Navy Seabee’s in the South Pacific
1957 Crane Service moved to Kenilworth Avenue in Washington, DC
1960 Sherwood Hutchison becomes 2nd generational President
1994 Sherwood and his brother Luther sold the company to, Rick Mazzella and Bob Hutchison. Rick becomes the 3rd generational President continuing business at Kenilworth Ave.
2001 Main office/ Crane yard at D’Arcy Road in Upper Marlboro, MD opens
2014 2nd office location (Headquarters) relocates to Capitol Heights, MD
2016 Office/shop/warehouse opens at 7900 Notes Drive in Manassas, VA
2017 Outside storage lot opens at Contractors Court in Manassas, VA
2020 2nd Warehouse location opens at Doane Drive in Manassas, VA
2022 3rd Warehouse 7909 Notes Drive Manassas, VA
2023 Brian Mazzella (Son of Rick & Barbara) becomes 4th generational President
